The Groomed for Greatness Girlpreneur program introduces program participants to entrepreneurship by providing them with the tools, support and encouragement they need to become successful entrepreneurs.
Participants engage in our training program where they acquire the proper skills to successfully operate and sustain a profitable business.
Our Girlpreneur Expo is a free, family-oriented event where the public is invited to support program participants as they sharpen their marketing and sales skills while highlighting their products or services. Whether program participants are starting a new business or have one that is already established, we support them in their endeavors.
Groomed for Greatness assisted Nasyah who was awarded $10,000 when Coca Cola sponsored the “Take It To the Top Entrepreneur Pitch Competition.” Our organization encouraged her to participate and provided the information she needed properly to enter the contest. Nasyah successfully executed a phenomenal sales pitch which allowed her to win the contest at the state level. She later went on to win at the National level in the HBCU/Collegiate Category. Winning this contest allowed her the opportunity to further drive her company, Brushfoote Beauty to be more successful.
Fourteen year old Miracle Williams also entered the “Take It To the Top Entrepreneur Pitch Competition” and was encouraged and supported by Groomed for Greatness. She was awarded $2,500 to help continue her body butter business, Miracle’s Magnifiscents, which is still in operation today.
“When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade”….and you sell it!! That’s what these young ladies did. The Lemon Quenchers features some of our younger girlpreneurs who make and sell tasty lemonade. They have been spotted at various local events and fundraisers selling lemonade with all the extras such as fresh fruit, flavored syrups, and more. They’ve even been known to have a diabetic-friendly version of the drink so that everyone can have a sip. If you see them at a local event, be sure to stop by their booth and try some delicious lemonade.
For our community service project, we did it with Sonia Ramelle at the Urban Wholistics Green space located at Tatum Park.
